Patient and public involvement forums

Staff and patient carer council members in discussion

What is a Patient and Public Involvement Forum?

At each of UHB’s four hospital sites, we have a Patient and Public Involvement Forum (PPIF).

  • Good Hope Patient and Public Involvement Forum
  • Heartlands Patient and Public Involvement Forum
  • Queen Elizabeth Patient and Public Involvement Forum
  • Solihull Patient and Public Involvement Forum.

By bringing staff, patients, carers, and the public together, we hope to ensure all voices are heard in the development of each hospital.

In addition to the four hospital PPIFs, we also have a Youth Voice Council. This is for young people aged 16-24 who are interested in improving the experiences of young patients at UHB. More information can elsewhere on our website.

We are keen to make joining our forums as accessible as possible and understand you may not be able to commit to every opportunity. Examples of PPIF activities include:

  • bi-monthly meetings (every other month)
  • ward visits to speak with patients, carers, and staff to collect experiences of care
  • opportunities to co-produce projects the Trust is working on

How do I join a forum or find out more?

If you would like to join or find out more, please contact the Patient Experience team.
