The gynaecology service at UHB has a specialist team with national reputation for providing advice and treatment to women requiring both general and specialist care throughout their lives, from birth until after menopause.
We care for patients in both an inpatient and outpatient setting across Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospitals. Our services include general gynaecology, urogynaecology, gynae-oncology, and colposcopy services.
We also treat fertility conditions, menopause and early pregnancy symptoms, as well as having a specialist Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) service.
We have two Gynaecology Assessment Units (GAU), one at Heartlands Hospital and one at Good Hope Hospital open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Our clinics and services are multi-professional with dedicated teams of specialist consultants, clinical nurse specialists, healthcare assistants, and administrative staff working together to ensure that patients receive professional care.
We have multiple clinics and services throughout our hospitals. Gynaecology outpatients’ is located in the building by the Princess of Wales (PoW) Women’s Unit and opposite the emergency department at Heartlands Hospital, in xx at Good Hope Hospital and xx at Solihull Hospital. Our GAU’s are located in the PoW Women’s Unit at Heartlands and xx floor of the Fothergill Unit at Good Hope Hospital. Gynaecology inpatients are cared for on Ward 2 at Good Hope Hospital.
