Rehabilitation

The Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Centre has services in Orthotics and Physiotherapy as well as the treatment of orthopaedic pre-operative patients and additional multi-disciplinary treatments for in-patients.

The entrance to the Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Centre at Good Hope can be found next to the Richard Salt Unit on the Rectory Road side.

Services available

Physiotherapy diagnostic assessments and follow up treatments are provided for a range of conditions. Referrals are accepted for acute and long term conditions. Referrals can be generated from GPs and consultants or for some conditions (excluding respiratory neurology and paediatrics) patients can self-refer.

Physiotherapists encourage improvement in the quality of life of the patient by education, exercise, pain relief and a mutually agreed treatment plan aimed at long term self management of the symptoms. There are some treatments however that we offer that are unique to our department including hydrotherapy, tai chi, aromatherapy, ultra-sound scanning, guided injection therapy, STarTback Education and Pain Management.
