Getting to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham by public transport

By bus

Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) is served by a number of bus routes that stop outside the main entrance or are a short walk from the hospital on New Fosse Way. A free shuttle bus to the QEHB site is available from the bus stops on Vincent Drive.

Free shuttle bus

A free shuttle bus service runs across the QEHB site from 07:00 – 19:00, Monday – Friday.

The shuttle bus carries patients, visitors and staff from University Railway Station to QEHB, Birmingham Women's Hospital, the Heritage Building and the Mental Health Trust. There are drop-off areas outside the QEHB Main Entrance and Emergency Department.

By train

The closest railway station to QEHB is University, which is around five minutes’ walk from the hospital. A free shuttle bus is also available from the station to the QEHB site.

University railway station is on the Cross-City and CrossCountry line. There are trains approximately every 10 minutes from Birmingham New Street towards Longbridge or Redditch. Certain services from Birmingham New Street towards Hereford and Cardiff also stop at University.

The station does not have any parking available. It has step-free access for those with limited mobility.
