Getting the train to work

Signs outside University railway station

Three of our four hospital sites are well served by the rail network with a station on site at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, and stations between a 10 – 15 minute walk at Good Hope and Solihull hospitals.

For Heartlands Hospital, Stechford railway station is a 30 minute walk away – but this might be an option if you are looking to walk as part of the journey due to the health benefits.

West Midlands Railway is the local train operator managed jointly by the Department for Transport and the West Midlands Rail consortium.

For full details of train times, frequency and station locations, please see the relevant hospital page:

Train pass discounts

University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is currently working with local train operators to secure discounted train passes for staff.
