Clinic follow-up

Once you are discharged from Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB), you will be required to come back as an outpatient for a follow-up assessment that allows us to:

  • See how well the Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) is working
  • Observe your driveline exit wound
  • Monitor and alter medications if required
  • Discuss any problems or queries you may have

On discharge you will initially be seen in clinic every two weeks and after three months appointments will start to become less frequent.
