Foot and ankle unit

The foot and ankle unit at Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull hospitals offers comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for a wide variety of routine and complex foot and ankle problems. The team offers weekly one-stop multi-disciplinary clinics to provide high quality and efficient care and conduct.

Our Foot and Ankle surgeons are internationally-renowned,  with the department being the largest ankle replacement unit in the West Midlands. Their specialist area includes total ankle replacements, in addition to forefoot surgery, hindfoot surgery, reconstructions and minimally invasive surgery.

The weekly clinic combines the talents of the foot and ankle; a team of Advanced Podiatric Practitioners (APPs) and Extended Scope Practitioners (ESPs), alongside foot and ankle fellows.

The team are involved in:

  • triaging and assessing patients
  • ultrasound and guided injections
  • preparing patients for surgery
  • reviewing post-operative patients

The foot and ankle team are well supported by a team of clinical and non-clinical staff, as well as experienced secretaries.
