Research and development

The lipid service at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital (BHH) has two specialist research nurses who support the work around trials and audits.

Our trials are rigorously tested through the trust research and development committee to assure safety and a governance framework. Dr Alan Jones is principle investigator to the work undertaken.

Inclusion on research trials is through fixed study eligibility and choice. We will discuss patient choice and support you to make the right decision for you.

We are currently included in the VICTORION-1 PREVENT trial – a study of Inclisiran to prevent cardiovascular events in high-risk primary prevention patients.
