Queen Elizabeth Hospital

There are three Trust-operated restaurants on the QEHB site: The Plaza, on Level 2; The Meeting Point, in the ITM (Institute of Translational Medicine); and The Clock Tower, on the Ground Floor of the Heritage Building.

The Plaza The Plaza is located on Level 2 of QEH and is open from 7:30 am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday.
The Clock Tower The Clock Tower is located along the Main Corridor on the Ground Floor of the Heritage Building and is open from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday.
The Spice of Life This is another restaurant in the main atrium however this is owned and operated by an external company and does not offer discounts. Open 7.00am - 16.00 Mon-Fri only.
Costa Coffee Located in the Main Atrium at QEH however please note they are operated by an external company and do not offer any discounts to Trust staff. Open 7.00am - 19.00 Mon-Fri, 9.00am - 18.00 Sat-Sun.
ITM Restaurant The Institute of Translational Medicine (ITM) Restaurant can be found within the ITM building, opposite Nuffield House, Main Entrance. Open Monday to Friday from 07.30 - 15.00.

Dave's Fruit and Veg

Dave's Fruit and Veg' stall is situated outside the main atrium of QEHB from 07:30 - 17:30 Monday to Friday. Please click on the link for further information -http://uhbhome/daves-fruit-and-veg.htm (this is an intranet link)

Farmer's Market

The Farmers' Market is held on the second and last Wednesday of every month. The stalls are be positioned outside the Main Entrance of QEHB; Please click on the link for further information - https://www.uhb.nhs.uk/get-involved/community/farmers-market/

Staff Meals

£1.50 meals are available for staff in the Trust Restaurants across all 4 sites. This includes a Band B sandwich, or a vegetarian meal (any sides would be extra at the normal cost).

From 11:00am - 11:15am you can get 4 breakfast items for £1.00, However, this will only be whatever is left at this time.

Heartlands Hospital

The Refectory Restaurant The Refectory is open from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. This is based in the ground floor of the education centre
Cafe One This contains a canteen called Autograph and a Starbucks Coffee Shop. This is situated in the main entrance of Heartlands Hospital.
Marks & Spencer located in the main entrance at Heartlands Hospital
Hot drinks machine Available in A&E majors B.
Ready meal machine This is also available at the ground floor of the tower block. Commercial microwave can be found in doctors mess, standard power microwave in doctors quiet room opposite M&S.

Good Hope Hospital

The Orchard Restaurant The Orchard Restaurant is open from 8am to 2pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 12pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Richard Salt Coffee Shop Ground Floor - Main entrance and is open 8am to 4pm
Accident & Emergency Coffee hub Ground Floor - Main A&E entrance and is open 8am to 7.30pm
WH Smiths Coffee Shop Main entrance - treatment centre and is open 8am to 5.30pm
Fothergill Shop Located in the fothergill block and is open from 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday and 8am to 3pm on Saturday.
Hot drinks machine Opposite main X-ray department. 
Ready meal machine This is also available in the Richard Salt coffee shop, with a commercial grade microwave in the mess (immediately adjacent to the coffee shop).

Seasons Restaurant is open from 8am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday. It is located on the 1st Floor.

Hungry on a night shift? 

Hot and cold food vending machine. Includes pastas, wraps, rice bowls and many more that can be reheated in a microwave. Pick a dish of your choosing, to enjoy anytime, 24/7. Available in the following locations:

  • Queen Elizabeth Hospital - the vending machine is on the mezzanine above WH Smiths.
  • Heartlands Hospital – Ground floor, near the lifts in the tower block main building
  • Good Hope Hospital – Next to the Richard Salt entrance coffee shop, opposite the doctors’ mess. 
  • Solihull Hospital – In the entrance to the Restaurant area

To use the app: Download the Lova app and input your card details. Use your smartphone to scan the QR code on the vending machine. The vending machine door opens, you take out what you would like and confirm the purchase on your phone. Payment is confirmed and taken automatically.
