Vulva clinic

We offer a comprehensive and holistic service for women with vulval problems such as itching, pain and visible skin changes or lumps, as well as already diagnosed vulva skin conditions including surveillance and treatment of Vulval Intraepithelial Neoplasia (VIN).

The service is made up of gynaecologists with a special interest in vulval disease who are also accredited colposcopists.

We also work closely with the pain management team, gynaecology nurses, psychosexual counsellors, gynaecology oncologists, urogynaecologists, colorectal specialists, pathologists, and radiologists.

The vulval service is supported by regular multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs) with specialist dermatologists, sexual health (GUM) specialists, and pelvic floor physiotherapists to help optimise patient management and allow bespoke treatment.

We also link in with Gynae-Oncology MDTs and colposcopy MDTs.

Our clinics also include:

  • combined colposcopy (if needed) to assist in multizonal assessment ( assessment of the cervix , vaginal and vulva ) with onward referral to colorectal at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for an assessment of the anal canal, called an anoscopy
